Kiarrcats of Ryll

Rouen

Map of Rouen

Mauroum Hrimroul

This roughly triangular landmass, spanning the northern temperate belt, is Ryll's third largest continent. Aside from a few strips of drier land in the southwest and a patch of cool tundra in the northeast, Rouen is dominated by forests. As might be expected, Rouen is known as the stronghold of the Forest kiarrs. Some of their most elaborate tree-villages can be found deep within the woods.

Rouen is bisected north to south by the Yirri Hills, a low, ancient mountain range blanketed in pine woods. The kiarrs living to the east of the hills are in frequent touch with their cousins on Hrimroul, whilst those in the west are more traditional, but east or west, the stereotypical Rouen personality is friendly and welcoming. Visitors can expect to leave both well rested and well fed.

Perhaps Rouen's most famous aspect is its animal life. It is dominated by large invertebrates, mostly insects. The largest vertebrates on Rouen are the kiarrcats themselves. They have tamed and lived alongside the giant insectoids for their entire history, and two of their most well known species - the nirith and the Rouen Bee - can now be found all across Ryll.
